Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984)- Music by John Scott (I)- Written by Michael Austin- Edgar Rice Burroughs (story Tarzan of the Apes)- Robert Towne (as P.H. Vazak) -Directed by Hugh Hudson

Edgar Rice Burroughs' story of an infant boy raised to manhood among the Great Apes, is brought to the screen in a powerful epic. Christopher Lambert stars as Tarzan, a man raised in the jungle who learns he is John Clayton, the seventh Earl of Greystoke, and heir to one of the great estates in Scotland. Seeking his inheritance and his identity as a human, he tries to return to society. And finds a world more barbaric than the one he left. In a powerful performance, Christopher Lambert makes his American debut in this story of a man torn between two worlds. This impressive epic depicts Tarzan's youth among the apes with astounding realism, and contrasts the world of the jungle with the civilized trappings of human society. It is considered one of Christopher's finest films.
