Maui's Fantastic Beaches

Maui has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The residents of Maui take a lot of pride in the condition of their beaches. The center of activity in Hawaii is the ocean and it's shoreline, here one can enjoy sunning on a simple 'day at the beach' or perhaps trying some jetskiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, or parasailing for a little excitement.

General Beach News

The recent conditions on Maui's beaches have been excellent for beaching, kayaking, and fishing. There has been some wind and it has been hot and humid. The surf on the north side has been good and steady this year, during the summer the North swells drop and the South Swells increase, great for surfing and windsurfing.

The humpback whales have left for the year.

Conditions for scuba diving, snorkeling, and spearfishing have been good to very good, visibility being limited to about 40 feet in the near shore areas, but with currents giving 60 feet plus visibility at some locations, most of these locations are in South and West Maui.

Sailing, has been good and fast, with power boating being a little choppy. The boat fishing is still excellent too.
