A private company created by Law 1995/91 for the study, construction, operation, running and development of the electric railways network of Attica Prefecture.

PROJECT'S FEATURES

Currently under construction, the largest and most complex transportation project in Greece and one of the largest in Europe.

• 2 new underground lines, 18 km long, 21 stations.
  
• Areas to be served:
  

Line 2(Red): From Sepolia to Dafni
Line 3(Blue): From Keramikos to Pentagono.

Transfer Stations with existing Line 1(Green): "Omonia","Monastiraki","Attiki".


• 450,000 daily passengers, in addition to 330,000 served by the existing Line 1(ISAP).
  
• Facilities for persons with special needs.
  
• Archaeological exhibits in stations.
  
• Cost (1994 values): 542 bill. Drachmas (2,0 bill. ECU).
  Up to 90% Funding from European Union and European Investment Bank, through grands & loans.
  
• Completion date and startup of operation: November 1998.
