There's nothing quite like New York's Film Forum, which specializes in two-week runs of new films, and studious, complete repertory programs. Imagine a theater that can fill every seat in a house for two weeks with films by the artist Matthew Barney, or for two months with films noir set in New York, or with the most complete Blaxploitation retrospective ever presented. The current program ranges widely, from Slovenian anti-politics and contemporary art to Mizoguchi's near-complete works and a restored Rita Hayworth picture.
